12 Year Old All Stars Win First Dist. 6 Banner in 50 Years
The 2013 Bayside 12 year old All Stars won the First Dist. 6 Banner in 50 year, to top that feat the Bayside 12 year old's were only one game away from traveling to Bristol CT for the Regional Tournament for New England. Bayside welcomes back 2 players from the 2013 12 year old team for the 2014 season.
AA players (6-8 yrs) will be placed on a team determined by school attended. Not all players from the same school may be on the same team - this will depend on the number of players registered per school. For example, if 14 girls register from Longfellow Elementary, they would be divided within two teams.
AAA players (9-11 yrs) will be assessed in order to determine eligibility for majors and to create fair teams. Players will be placed on teams based on skill first and by school attended second.
MAJORS TEAMS: All returning majors players will be assessed and automatically included in the redraft for a majors team. All girls, ages 10- 11 years will be assessed for placement on a AAA or majors softball team. All 12 year olds will be assessed and automatically drafted on a majors team.
ASSESSMENTS for all 9-12 year old girls: Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Deering High School. You will receive an e-mail closer to the date with a specific assessment time.
TEAM PICTURES: Saturday, May 3 at Lyman Moore Middle School. Specific times will be provided at a later date.
OPENING DAY CELEBRATION for all softball players: Sunday, May 4 at 1pm at Ludlow Softball Field. More details to follow.
VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are the backbone of our little leagues! There are many ways to volunteer time and talent (field maintenance, coaching, concessions, board membership, etc). Please consider filling out a volunteer form! All volunteers are mandated by Little League regulations to complete a form.
AMATOS Fundraiser: We will participate this spring in an Amatos fundraiser. Information will be provided on Opening Day. Money raised will help provide field maintenance, insurance, equipment etc.
We are excited about the new changes and start of the 2014 softball season!!! Every effort is being made to make it a fun experience for all of our girls. Please be patient as we make this transition. Cheers for a successful season!
